Flecks is a cyclical story told through moving still frames. Using two-dimensional illustrations and three-dimensional backgrounds, set in the same room, it showcases a character in different stages of their life.
Individuals have a hard time conceptualizing the footprint their lives have on the world; this story brings the ‘world’ to a smaller scale to clearly demonstrate this change. This story visualizes how people impact the space around them.
The story of Flecks is the product of Covid-19 quarantine. After being stuck in my bedroom for a week I grew to despise the grape purple walls and pink accent pieces. So I ordered a few buckets of paint and got to work. When my family saw the final product they commented on how it was more ‘me’. This sparked the thought of how people change their space to fit them as they grow.
